To create a drop-down list in Excel, follow these steps:
- Select the cell or range of cells where you want to create the drop-down list.
- Click on the Data tab in the ribbon.
- Click on the Data Validation button in the Data Tools group.
- In the Data Validation dialog box, select “List” from the “Allow” drop-down list.
- In the “Source” field, type in the items you want to appear in the drop-down list, separated by commas.
- Optionally, you can choose to include a prompt message and an error alert in the Data Validation dialog box.
- Click on the OK button to create the drop-down list.
That’s it! Now when you click on the cell or range of cells, you should see a drop-down arrow. Click on the arrow to display the list of items you entered in the Source field.
